Skin Tips
Exfoliate! Exfoliate! Exfoliate!
Get the most out of your skincare. Make sure you exfoliate regularly to get the best levels of absorption from your skin oils and moisturisers - if it has to fight through layers of dull, dead skin cells to get to your body it will be exhausted by the time it arrives and won't do the best job, wasted product and wasted effort...
Holland and Barrett offers
Holland and Barrett are doing their buy one, get one half price thing and whilst I don't really take vitamins, I'm loving their flaxseed and pumpkin seed products with Goji berries and sunflower seeds mixed in - there's even one mixed with cocoa for the chocolate lovers. So sprinkle some on your porridge in the morning nand stay full til lunch time - in a healthy way....
NEW VEG
Over the weekend, find a vegetable or fruit that you have NEVER had before - then try to find a Detox recipe for it....variety is the spice of DETOX LIFE!

Day 22 I think!

Forgive me, I'm sat in bed, fully paid up member of the wide awake club as I have been awake since 5am here in California, clearly not adjusted to time difference as yet.

So, Heathrow was good, large roast veg salad and a fruit salad to follow as 'take out' from one of the EAT places.

In flight was a bit more challenging, ate the green beans, carotts and roasted peppers that came with the chicken (v tempted but didn't) and then there was somnething that looked like a piece of orange but was v tired looking and then miracles of miracles, a small bunch of grapes with some cheese (which I didn't have) but with mini oatcakes - can you tell we didn't fly 1st class!!  All topped up with my Klip Lok full of mixed nuts and diced manchego so I was totally fine.

I realised I had smuggled an apple all the way through homeland security without realising so munched on that on the drive to Calistoga and then after check in we managed a fabulously tasty Beetroot Carpaccio with goats cheese - that was sooooo thinly spread it was barely there - and mixed veg salad - which I will try to recreate at home as it was delicious - they used red and yellow beets too. Supper was a walnut and spinach salad but we suspect the walnuts had been roasted in some sort of sweet something - we hope honey but it was probably not - oops!

On another note, had a request from someone starting their DETOX in late Feb due to social fixtures and she will be 'coming off' pasta, white bread etc and wantws to know where cous cous sits - well, I'm sorry, that's a NO! its usually wheat based. I would also definately recomment reducing the amounbt of 'white goods' you are having in the weeks before starting as losing that much 'sugar/carb' overnight will see your energy levels take a nose dive...... hope this helps.

Meetings all day today and demo treatments, so keep up the good work everyone - nearly there! maybe try a pudding/dessert today and see how you can do 'health indulgence'

On day 2 of the detox! Did it in 2000 and it was more 'hardcore' then...So welcoming the new swiss water decaf coffee, tomatoes after 7 days and oats/oatcake/quinoa damn even banana possibilities! would have done it again before if I'd known!! Just a few things to ask....Chick Pea floue, corn pasta....Are these allowed please? thank you!

Thanks for the advise! I'm certainly going to be cutting down the amount of carbs - most of which are wholemeal anyway - not sure if that makes any difference. I'm really looking forward to starting it and indulging in the treatments! Thanks again and I will let you know how I get on. L x
