Skin Tips
Exfoliate! Exfoliate! Exfoliate!
Get the most out of your skincare. Make sure you exfoliate regularly to get the best levels of absorption from your skin oils and moisturisers - if it has to fight through layers of dull, dead skin cells to get to your body it will be exhausted by the time it arrives and won't do the best job, wasted product and wasted effort...
Holland and Barrett offers
Holland and Barrett are doing their buy one, get one half price thing and whilst I don't really take vitamins, I'm loving their flaxseed and pumpkin seed products with Goji berries and sunflower seeds mixed in - there's even one mixed with cocoa for the chocolate lovers. So sprinkle some on your porridge in the morning nand stay full til lunch time - in a healthy way....
NEW VEG
Over the weekend, find a vegetable or fruit that you have NEVER had before - then try to find a Detox recipe for it....variety is the spice of DETOX LIFE!

Day 5 of Our 2012 GLOBAL Detox

See comments posted on Day 3 page, we now have detoxers added from Western Australia (Megan, the allowed foods list is in the press section of this web site if you need the most up to date version) and if you missed it, Massachussetts, Miami, California and Hawaii - plus of course all over the UK and Wales - haven't spotted anyone from Scotland yet and Liz says she is starting with her family after following it for over 11 years.....thank you Liz, the tomatoes are your reward!

So detoxers, a few things...on cold days like today try a few 'ribbons' of fresh ginger in your hot water/lemon/honey in the mornings - simply slice a few pieces using a potato peeler and let the warm ginger infuse for extra flavour.

Make sure you are dry skin brushing every morning - another one to wake up and warm up with - only do a few moments each day, this will mean that by the end of the week, everything will have been done a few times over.

...and my recipe for Roast Veg with halloumi that was very tasty on Sunday night and again with rice for lunch today.

Take a good selection of winter veg - cooked beetroot (but not the pickled variety), red onions chopped into 4, sweet potato, peeled and cubed, cubed carrots, sprouts, courgette, peppers etc Garlic bulbs sliced in half (allow approx half a bulb per person eating)

Place everything in a roasting tray, drizzle with oil and roast in the oven for approx 45 mins - or until both the sweet potato and the carrots have softened.

Slice some Halloumi cheese and drain a can of chickpeas - then add to the roasting veg at the 45 minute mark, for 5 minutes, then crush fresh black pepper and some coriander seed and sprinkle this over for the last 10 minutes...(1 hour cooking time in total)

I had this on it's own and my partner (who has NEVER detoxed) had it as a side with his chicken pie!!!

......sign of first detox spot on chin this morning, hope it passes quickly!

So great having you blog as you go through this :) I was wondering on a couple of things, is spinach in or out? Also same goes for Cinnamon sticks and cloves???? Trying to do some experimentation in the kitchen :)
